so the blurb about salvador airport is a real security nightmare can me termed a great misnomer!
We set our alarm for 5:30AM, got in the taxi, skedadled to the airport for a 7:50 AM flight - They hadn't even opened the security yet when we arrived... after a hot dog, ice cream, and all the 6 stores open, we exhausted our opportunities and sank into the uncomfortable seats with the other waiting passenges... What wasted time.
